The Celiac disease is a medical condition where the surface of the small intestine is damaged by gluten found in grains like wheat, rye and barley. Gluten sends a signal to the triggering member of an autoimmune reaction, which has the same effect as food poisoning. The Celiacs can control the food supply in their own home reading labels and paying attention to what they buy and eat.

A simple thing like soaking in butter again when buttering toast, may leave bread crumbs in butter. This may be all it takes to trigger an autoimmune reaction. Some celiac remove all gluten from their house and eat all the gluten-free world, it is easier and safer that way.
